Space is a fascinating topic, but can be challenging to bring to life in the classroom (and can also generate questions that can be difficult to answer for the non-specialist teacher!).
I will really engage your class or group with the topic of space in ways that are exciting and enhance learning, and provide your group with an unforgettable experience.
Uniquely, Science Horizons can provide a range of exciting elements that can be combined in various ways to provide the perfect space visit. I will work with you to create the perfect timetable for the visit.
Modules That Can be Combined:
The Stars and Planets
A scene-setting exploration of the Universe starting with the stars and planets and moving out into the Universe with stars, galaxies and black holes.
We will place these in the context of the stars, planets and constellations that pupils can see for themselves at the time of the visit to enable them to follow up at home and see things for themselves in the real skies form their back gardens.
Meteorites & the Origin of the Solar System
Using quality specimens of real meteorites, including historically fascinating and scientifically important ones, we explore what meteorites are, where they come from and what they can tell us about the origins of the Solar System.
Linked to this is how to observe meteors (shooting stars) and even how they could find their own micro-meteorites!
Spaceflight and Space Travel
We explores the fascinating history and challenges of space travel, including the early space race and Moon landings and bring it up to date with modern space exploration and life on the International Space Station.
This includes genuine artefacts from the history of space travel.
